Phone dials - removing tires
I have 4 phone dial wheels with tires I want to have taken off (will eventually be selling the wheels). Can this be done by a local garage/tire place? I've heard some horror stories re: damage done to Fuchs; any specdial equipment required for the phone dials? Thanks is advance!

Almost any tire shop today will have the modern equipment to mount and dismount alloy wheels without marring them. A mom-and-pop garage with old equipment designed for steel wheels might be a problem. It is the care taken by the operator that makes the difference, so let the shop know you are concerned, but the phone dials are not as highly prized or as vulnerable as a perfectly restored, anodized Fuchs to begin with, so don't worry too much.

My mechanic showed me a piece of plastic which protects the rim while changing the tires. Really simple, but works great. We all should have one.
