3.2 headers/heat exchengers
Hoping that someone can help here.. I am going to add a new set of either headers or SSi's etc to my 87 3.2 soon.
I can buy a used set of headers with 1 3/8 inch primary pipes. They are off a 2.7. My question is what is the recommended dia of the primary pipes for a 3.2? The motor is a stock 3.2 with a chip. Later, I will add some new cams (way later) and possibly extrudehone the intake and add a hotwire AF meter. I do not expect to be making over 260-280 with this engine, ever. Also, I will limit RPM's to 7000 (chip cutoff). The car is used 80% street 20% track. added flexibility would be nice, even if it means 5-10 less HP at peak. Comments?? |

scott i read pelicans exhaust section that on 3.2L and bigger you need 1 and 5/8's size pipe. thats why the 2.7 is 1 and 3/8s

Hey Scott,
While I've found you here I have a question. I'm in Texas and it's pretty hot. What size fans did you use to cool your engine compartment and how well or how much of a differance can you tell. I need my A/C to do as well as it can. I just add a manual override to the oil cooler fan and it helps but I wondered if the old fans in the rear trick would work. Thanks, Mike Miller 89 911 ------------------ |
