Engine noise.

All right this sounds silly, kind of like telling your mechanic 'it goes kachink, kanchink'. After engine gets up to normall temp I have a noise on the right side of engine, maybe cylinder 5, that sound kind of like a dryer vent blowing in the breeze (you know like you have on the side of your house). It also occurs on de-acceleration. As I said it seems to be there only after the engine gets up to temp. I don't notice any change in idle or performance and stills runs smooth. I'm thinking maybe valve or something to do with the MFI stacks/plates?
Any suggestions.

Hi Jbirkett.

You're probably right about the noises and their origin. And you've also identified the problem with noises over the net...it's real hard to imagine them!

What I've found in my personal experience is that it's possible to get your motor to make many many different noises depending on what you adjust. They can range from savage to wonderful with just a few changes of eg mixture strength.
I recommend you do what I'm in the process of doing if you have anything you need to sort out:
Trace everything you can and set it all to factory specs in the order that they lay out.
Now that you have access to the Blue Book and other advice posted here recently, this is an achievable (if a little daunting) task.
I'm really enjoying it. You learn sooooo much, and once you have that knowledge, future repairs and diagnosis are easier..much. Just look at how Warren knows all this stuff....it's because he's already DONE IT and UNDERSTANDS it. Unless you like mechanics a lot (I don't), learn to do it yourself!
Good luck!

Agreed. Go through the procedures and get everything adjusted just right, according to "the book." Most problems go away. And for problems that persist, you;ve eliminated many things you would otherwise have to suspect.
