Pics of the New Super Lites mounted up

Here they are. For more specs and details see this post:

Whats this? the ultimate early car wheels?

The tires are 245/45 16 in the rear and 205/55 in front.

Bad news is the fronts rub at the bumper fender joint in the front...not where you can roll anything. Anybody have any ideas on fixing this? Would ride height help there?

The fronts are set out (neg offset) a little too much, Barry at Pack Racing is working with me, he will either get me wheels with more backspace or I may try smaller tires ( I have some 225/45s I may mount). Since the 205/55 is the OE size its probably important ro be able to run those tires on the wheels. This is one of the first sets he has sold so they are still working out the fitment.

You could always run fuchs on the front like the factory did...

Phew finally done

Cannot say enough about Barry at Pack Racing, he did not even blink an eye, sent out new front wheels with more back space and they are perfect. Minimal trim on the fender/bumper joint (probably not neccesary with a car that was not as low).

Boy the ride is really improved with the 205/55 on the front, the more sidewall and smaller tread makes for a lighter steering feel and less harshness over the bumps. I guess the factory new what they were doing when they specd this size on the SCs :-) Happy camper!!

What do you guys think with the center caps? Think I shoud leave them on or off? I cant decide.

Wow! Those wheels look great. I vote for no centercaps for the vintage racing look.

That cinches it... Replacing my 16X7 and 6's with these when money permits... Sweet!

I would also go without the center caps. Your 911 rocks by the way!

They are pretty heavy. The web site shows them around 20 lbs. The race version is ~15 lbs. But not availble yet. I might have waited if I realized they were on the horizon. I plan to use them for the street, I have 15s that are a little lighter for the track.

Those look really nice on your car. I prefer the appearance without the center caps.

When there is rubbing at the leading joint it is usually in a turn, if so you can trim the flange where it projects into the forward part of the wheel well.

STJ - that sucks shoot me an e-mail, lets get together.

Thanks Bill, Thats exactly what I did. But with the initial fronts he sent they stuck out way too far, I would of had to cut an inch out of the fender itself and not just the seam, The later ones required <1/4 inch off the seam on the passenger side. The second set look better too. The first ones just stuck out too far, did not look quite right. Amazing what < 1/2 inch can do asthetically on wheels.
