door pocket carpet question

I am pretty sure I am getting ready to change my carpet to black. I am leaving my door panels grey-beige, but I want the pockets to be black. Question is, has anybody reading this ever replaced the carpet on the pocket with new? Is it difficult enough to warrant trying to find a nice set of used black ones instead?

Thanks

How about a set of brand new (aftermarket) black panel carpet? I bought a kit and ended up not using them, as the stock ones were so nice.

Easy job.

$45 shipped.

Thanks.

Are you going to buy a carpet kit, if so it may have the carpet for the door pockets. My kit came with them and they were easy to glue on.

OK, sounds like they are easy to install then. I was not sure if they came as part of the standard carpet kit or not. Sounds like maybe they do.

From a carpet kit I bought. I paid extra to get all carpeted surfaces including the trunk lining.

I can't remember off hand, but it is domestic acrylic plush-cut pile.

If you change out the carpets use the Silverknit, it is the product Porsche used.

To cover the map pockets, you will need solid map pockets, a can of 3M super trim adhesive spray and a stapler. The vinyl edging needs to be stapled on the inside top of the pocket edge, otherwise the vinyl will peel back on a hot day due to the porous nature of the map pocket lining.

x2... Good advice.

It's not as hard as you might imagine. Just takes your time and be methodical.
Believe me if I can do it so can you.
