Question Turbo Guys: 930 Air Intake Pipe?

Guys,

Just wondering if one of these 930 air intake pipes would work with my new GT35R setup and the higher Carrera intake manifold?

What I'm referring to, is the physical placement of the air filter if directly clamped onto that pipe?

It should hopefully position an air filter just beside the intake runners, correct?

Input appreciated

That's what I'm using with my EFI setup, though I'd prefer to have a 3" diameter pipe that goes to the turbo...

I thought this was 3" in diameter throughout?

Nope - mine is either a 2.5" or 2.75" (ok - I'm sure its in mm equivalent that will work out to 2.5x" or 2.7x" )

I used an adapter at the air filter end to adapt it a 3" air filter.

hmmm, I also prefer 3" right through. The GT35R actually has a machined 3.25" inlet, but I'm using a silicone reducer to go to 3", so I need 3" hard pipes right through

Trial and error will give you your answer. Get in there and fab the pipe
EXACTLY how it needs to be. I don't think there is an off the self part
for what you are talking about doing and there is not just one correct
answer. Good Luck.

CIS engines are running up to 475HP using the stock inlet pipe. What numbers are you expecting?

I made one from 3" aluminum elbows. It was a really tight fit. It's still a little smaller than the 3-1/8" intake on the K27HF2, but hopefully it flows enough for 500+ rwhp.

2.75" pipe will certainly flow enough air to keep your engine happy. It's just cold ait, remember

Heck, 3" exhaust pipe is good for 400+ hp, and gases are much much hotter, thus taking more volume.

If the OEM 930 intake pipes were 2.75" in diam, did these ever come with some sort of sleeve/boot, to increase the diameter to 3.0", at the compressor side?
