So far you are still stumped. I need to see the PUMP disassembled.

Just to provide some perspective

I am going to be grinding on the pump in these locations, so how thick is this?

Thanks for trying Bill. I'm going to put this date in red on my calendar!

I just had my pump rebuilt (blueprinted) and ported by Ollie's. They have a Porsche oil pump specialist. Maybe they could put you in touch with him? My pump is still at Ollies, though.

That's true - this may be the only time the legendary Verburg photo database did not produce the desired pic.

You might have to buy a used one from a junkyard/eBay -- if it won't work you could resell it and not be out too much.

If I was not in a hurry that might work, but I have the engine in the family room for assembly while wife is on a biz trip...

This may or may not be of help:

From this thread: ID this, for a slow $20

Perhaps you could PM/email user Don Settergren to see if he has more pics of his rotted oil pump.

Chris: I've got a pump partially dissassembled. It looks like the motor that this pump was in needed the modification that you are doing as its already been machined down a bit....by the crank. I measured .0252 thickness on one section that you are interested in. I have not pulled apart the pump to get the other section thickness. I'll try later tonight or tomorrow.

This is GREAT! Just what I needed to know, and I am feeling more comfortable already about removing some material in the area of this pic. Thanks a LOT!
