Rear M caliper rebuild
OK, splitted the halves, cleaned everything, new seals, dust boots and lubing etc in place. Painted the lot as well.
Now I would like to use new bolts to join the halves back together again, as well as new o-rings. Does anybody know where I can get the bolts and/or o-rings? Part.nr. maybe? Thanks Dennis

I'm no expert, but I am pretty sure the accepted wisdom is you do NOT split the halves...unless it was leaking at the halves, was it?
No idea where to get the bolts/O-rings. Our host would be my best guess. Why would you necessarily have to replace the bolts anyway? Seems that they would be reuseable.....but as I said, I'm no expert.

+1 on what Dan said...
A search would reveal why splitting is not recommended.

Dennis-
This link on splitting calipers has lots of information on the caliper half o-ring seals, the right type of sealant, Ribe bolts, and links to torque specs for getting everything back together. Good Luck, Jim |
