remove bumper to re-wire headlights?

I'll shortly be upgrading my lights (cibie H4), bulbs (narva 130/100W) and wiring (with additional circuits, larger gauge wire, relays, etc).

Is it necessary to remove the front bumper to run wire from the front cargo area to the headlamp buckets?

Seems like it is to me, but want to make sure I'm not overlooking the obvious.

This is for the '83 SC.

Thanks,
Skip

Wasn't on my 87. The wires pass thru the bulkhead, then free air inside the fender, then into the bucket. Look for a black rubber boot near the battery area & on the opposite side of the trunk in a similar area. You can follow the wires from your fuse panel.

On the driver's side, you'll need to remove the front wheel and then the windshied washer tank and overflow to access the wire grommets. It's a good time to clean the crud out of the bumper shock support on the inner fender wall as well.
