factory alarm system
Can anyone tell me if my assumption is correct?I purchased the new service manual and it appears that the alarm cuts off the fuel pumps.Looking at the schematic,I can't see that it interfaces with the ignition.I'm still trying to get this stalling gremlin. thanks as always....jer

Hi Rjm
I had a no starting alarm problem this spring on my 89 turbo cab. No pumps no nothing just cranking. I must have tripped the alarm somehow it would not reset by simply locking and unlocking the door. I looked over the HaZy manual and it shows the location of the alarm pretty well. The manual also give some tests to check the box for function. I never had to get that far. I just disconected the thing and the car fired right up. I reconnected the alarm control box and it functioned fine so far. My brother deals with PLC boards a bunch and he specualtes that by removing it I just performed a reset on the logic that controls the thing. It's a good dig to get up to the box. I cleaned the dust bunnies and changed hood shocks while I had the thing all opened up. I guess if it was easy to get to it would not make much of a deterent. Thanks for the information.I'll try disconnecting and see if it helps..Mine is so on and off. I don't have a factory manual or schematic for my turbo so I'm using the new manual from bently. It shows a 88 schematic and it looks like the only safeguard is the fuel pump shut off.My question is does it also cut off cdi spark? thanks jerry

I believe it does. I never did get a spark when trying to sort out my problem. Disconnecting it made every thing work.
