Why would Techart take a chance like that, it's just sad.

Wayne,
Did the case of the stolen engines you helped recover a few years back finish running it's course yet? At the time you couldn't give us all the details but I was wondering if the guilty parties and such could be named now.
thanks,
-Chris

austin552,

Do you know of any other sources? I trust most stuff that I read on this forum, but I have a hard time believing information that I read on the web these days unless its from multiple reliable sources. Interesting news, but I'd like to see some more information/details from a few German sources.

-Matt

In German:

http://www.stuttgarterzeitung.de/stz/page/detail.php/1437597

http://www.manager-magazin.de/unternehmen/artikel/0,2828,486205,00.html

Links From the Final Gear board...

I translated it and it says about the same stuff... but, I don't speak German anymore... As far as I can tell, they do not have all the facts yet and it may be that TechArt simply ordered some engines and got funny stuff, or they may have been playing a dangerous game... Lets wait and see before judging

Best regards,

Michael

if the facts are correct, the thing that gets me is, if it were my business and I recieved a scetchy/wrong order, you

A. immediatly refuse recipt

B. Call police if it seems shady

C. Call shipper and see what's up right away.

-You don't dis-assemble or hold the parts in your shop unless you are in on the gig right???-not for a big buck engine that's for sure..

"TechArt maintains its innocence, stating that employees bought the engines in good conscience and thought they were getting conventional 997 engines. We don't know much more than that, but it appears so far that Porsche is taking the tuner to court for theft, and that two Porsche employees, and two customers, are in the slammer".
