Big Brake Upgrades

Hi all,

I'm working on a 1977 Porsche 911 Sunroof Coupe and looking to do an upgrade to the braking system.

Brembo, Wilwood, upgrade to later model Carrera C2/4 rotors and calipers... that is the question.

What is the best route to take and all of the quirks in each path? Such as, upgrading brake booster, required metering valves, etc.

My ideal approach, no matter which vendor, would be a complete kit.

PS The car will have 19" wheels, so clearance isn't an issue.

Cheers

Give Steve Weiner a call(503.244.0990), ask him for a 930 setup, Either he or Pelican can supply the required 930 m/c.

That's all there is to it.

Hi there,

Ya I have Steve's contact information.

Is the 930 kit best considering other vendors on the market? What size rotors and piston calipers does the 930 kit give?

Cheers

Bill is the resident expert on brake conversions (and other matters) here on the BBS. If he is recommending 930 brakes, then that is the best option. If you search here you will find a ton of different ways to go. All these options have pros and cons and you have to decide which is best for your application, budget, etc.

You can't go wrong taking Bill's advice.

Good luck

Ahh, well if he's the expert, the 930 kit is the way I'll go!

Thanks again, guys!

Cheers
