Airbag light on after changing battery?
I have a 93 964 RSA. Battery went dead after I left the key in the ignition in the ON position for 5 hours. I was going to replace the battery soon anyway.
No problems pre battery change. But now the airbag light ( on the dash) stays on. Any hep in attacking this would be appreciated. Anyone every have this problem? Thanks, Earl

Try disconnecting the battery for ten minutes. (with the key in the off position.) and see what happens

A piece of black friction tape the size of your thumbnail works wonders...

You may need to have a mechanic reset the light with their diagnostic computer.
I had to do that on my '98 A4 after removing the airbag to change the ignition switch.

Did '93's have OBDs? Maybe. Maybe it was the OBDII that started in '95. I have my own OBDII software and harness ($395) that works through a Palm Pilot.

bell...have a thread on this problem in the 964/993 forum - check it out. i'll be posting a lonnnng thread about that stereo removal and new install. a nightmare..took me and my brother about 8 hours - half of it removing old stuff. you should see the box of wires and old components..probably 20 lbs worth! i also posted on rennlist. 5 minutes did nothing..don plumley suggested overnight, so that's what i'm doing. he says i also may need the hammer or the other pc-based code reset tool..
