H4 Low/High Beam, one filament for Low beam & one for High beam or both for High?
Question about H4 bulb operation:
Low beams = only low beam filament burning High beams = both filaments burning? High beams = only high beam filament burning? Second, if they are separate in operation then wouldn't there be an intermittent lapse of current when going from low to high, or high to low in a mechanical switched scenario? |

Only the high beam filament burns, and yes, there is a time lapse when switching!

If stalk is pulled (momentary position for "flashing"), both filaments burn. If it is pushed, high only.
Unless a PO got creative...

Roninlb 'got creative' and the experiment lasted about 8 minutes before both ground wire electrodes burned out inside his H4 bulbs!
I have that option with my H1s, 4 x 130 Watts, but it does strain the alternator a bit ... so it soesn't get used much!
