76 carrera 3.0 brake compound front/rear

Should I run the same compound for fronts and rears?

This is for track application with most of the races ranging between 5 and 10 laps. The car brakes are stock, I am looking to run Hawk HT10.

I would welcome any other suggestions.

Does your racing class allow you to add an adjustable brake bias? That is a better way to control front:rear bias than using different compounds.

I use the same compound front and rear (Performance Friction 97 compound) and the stock bias works out fine.

doesn't sound like a good idea. different compounds might have different coefficients of heating speed and might not reach optimal operating temp at the same time?
might not be a factor once the pads are warmed up.
(not a brake compound expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn in 1996)

I was running Ferodo DS3000s (all round) with Motul 600 fluid in mine at a Silverstone GP track day last week and was fine. Longest session was 13 laps or thereabouts.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I wasn't sure whether people run different compound or not.

John, that's a beautiful Carrera 3.o.

That is a cool pic Bill

hmd - thanks for the kind words, I am in love with this car. Chasing fuel pressure issues all week before the track and now sorted, with SSIs (and a bit more driver training) it will eat some of the 3.2s I go out with. I have plans afoot to get the rest of them.
