Q: Aero mirror to 1990 C2
I have an aero mirror that I took off from my buddy's crashed 92 C2. I look at it and think: hmmm...I'll remove the flag mirror from my 90 C2, unplug it, plug in my buddy's and life is good. NOPE. I unbolt my flag mirror and pull the wire in hope that it has the same connector as 92, but no. It seems like it's connected to the harness inside the door. Now, do I have to go through the pain documented in adopting aero mirrors to earlier Carreras? Do I have to cut the wire? I suppose I can make my mirrors manual, but perhaps there is a solution out there...what do you guys think? Thanks in advance.
Here is the picture of the aero mirror which was on 92 C2 ![]() And here is what I have when remove flag mirror from my 90 C2 ![]()

The dealer actually sells a complete kit to retrofit the later mirrors onto an earlier 964. All of the bits (including the wiring adapter) have separate part numbers. I did the conversion on a '91 I used to own. If I hadn't happened to have saved the Excellence article that covered the process, I would have never figured it out, it is not easy. You should be able to buy just the parts you need. As I remember the complete kit for both sides was about $450.
