911's climb hills better than subarus
I've just bought a new house & the drive is very very steep. Once I move in I'll take a pic. It's about 100m long & has three distinct sections, each one broken with a dish drain/speedhump. Climbing this drive is a huge ask in my current suby wagon - even with the thing in low range (about a 10% reduction in gearing). The last section of the drive sees the wagon needing plenty of revs/clutchslipping or a hard launch over the last speedhump to avoid stalling.
I thought this might be an issue for the older porker so tried it out yesterday. First two sections fine, crawled over the third hump and the car just crawled up the last section without any dramas at all. My speed over the last hump was lower in the porsche but it still climbed the last bit with ease. So in theory, my newish wagon that is supposed to be reasonably good at this thing is outperformed by a 30yr old sports car that presumably never had climbing in its design brief. Just another reason to love these old cars.

Nothing like having the engine and tranny sitting on the rear axle for hill climbing!
From the sound of it though you might want to consider buying brake pads by the dozen.
