Help, can't figure to shorten engine lid latch.
I am fitting a Rennspeed ducktail to my 78 and the latch is correctly positioned and works great, it's just a liitle too tall. It looks like you would just insert a screwdriver into the slot at the end of the plunger and turn. It won't budge - am I missing trick?

You have to loosen the big hexagonal jam nut next to the base, first, before you can adjust the depth of engagement of the pin with a screwdriver.

Are you using the adjustable rubber nubs on the lower corners of the lid? If so, they're adjusted too high. If not, follow S-Man's suggestion.
