917 in RaceTech

Just picked up issue #73 of RaceTech off the news stands. It has an interesting in depth article comparing the 917 to the Bentley EXP8 written by the designer of the Bentley. It also has a look at the new LMP2 Spyder. I haven't had time to read it yet but it looks to be a really good issue. If you are into racecar engineering or just a 917 fan I recommend picking it up.

Their website (www.racetechmag.com) hasn't been updated to show the new issue but it can be found at better newstands and book shops.

Boy. I subscribe and it's not here yet! It sounds like it was written by Peter Elleray who must be new on the magazine's staff. He's also had articles in the last two issues about "Race Car Designers" do, and where they come from.

Yep, it was by Peter Elleray it is 10 pages long and titled "The Car I Wish I'd Designed!" It also has part 3 of their Data Acquisition series.

I just picked it up at lunch so I won't be able to read it until I get home but scanning through it looks like a great issue.

reported to have collided head on with a truck ...while driving a Chrysler Voyager ????

I think they should have left him some dignity and omitted the type of vehile he was driving.   God has a sense of humor, doesn't he.

Being physically challenged enough not to be able to drive a "regular" car ...with regular controls...from a previous race accident...maybe the Voyager was set up with special controls to allow him to ( at least ) be able to drive ??
