Starting back on the 73T project

I havn't done anything on my 73T in over a year. I joined a golf club and all my free time was spent there. Well the weathers changing so Im planning to start back on the 73 and have her ready for next spring. I pulled her out of my basement garage and gave her a wash. So far Ive painted, replaced all the suspension, new torsion bars- 26 and 21. and replaced all the weatherstrip and rubber. Ive also replaced the headliner and gutted the interior.

Next I plan to get the suspension sorted out and new tires. I also need to do about a thousand little things to get her ready for the road.

Here is a before, durring, and now pics.

The height to the fender lips are 25". Im not sure how much I should lower her but it looks to tall now. Should I wait and get the new tires first, or lower now?

well, the addage about the 25.5" front and 25" rear lips is based on a 25" tire for the euro height. so you could use 13" and 12.5" from the hub center if you're in a hurry...

The tires on now measure 23" tall. I plan on getting 205/60 15, or 205/55 15. I guess the best thing to do would check the hub centers and go from there. The alignment shop is 15 miles away so I would rather get everything aligned and then put on new tires.

You need to wait for the new tires before getting the alignment!

Either of the tire sizes you mentioned will be taller than the present tires, and fill up the wheelwells better. The 205/55VR-15s are much closer to OEM diameter than what you have now, and will affect both appearance and ride height. As with all things related to tires, exact size will vary from mfr to mfr.
