Strobe light hook-up?
Hello everyone,
Being the cheap scrooge that I am, I bought a strobe timing light at Sears on Sunday. I got 10% off because it was the last one they had and was supplied without box or instructions. My questions: 1) Which fuse do I use to power it from fuse box 3 in the engine compartment? 2) What distributer or coil cable do I connect its sensor to? Thanks, - roGER |
Roger,
Any of the fuses should work fine, though I usually try to find the 'spare' one. The #1 spark plug lead is used for triggering the timing light. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |
i can scan in the instructions and e-mail them to you. e-mail me at:

If yours is like my Sears timing light hook the red clip to the hot wire running to one of the fuses, the black wire to a good ground on the car and the sensor clamp to the number one spark plug wire (left side, closest to rear of car)

You guys are more clever than I. I placed a spare battery on the gound next to the car.

Thanks to everyone for their replies, and especially to Obin for his kind offer.
I'll have a go this week-end and if I can't make it work I'll ask for the scanned instructions. Thanks again everyone. - roGER |
