Strobe light hook-up?

Hello everyone,

Being the cheap scrooge that I am, I bought a strobe timing light at Sears on Sunday. I got 10% off because it was the last one they had and was supplied without box or instructions.

My questions:

1) Which fuse do I use to power it from fuse box 3 in the engine compartment?

2) What distributer or coil cable do I connect its sensor to?

Thanks,

- roGER

Roger,

Any of the fuses should work fine, though I usually try to find the 'spare' one. The #1 spark plug lead is used for triggering the timing light.

If yours is like my Sears timing light hook the red clip to the hot wire running to one of the fuses, the black wire to a good ground on the car and the sensor clamp to the number one spark plug wire (left side, closest to rear of car)

You guys are more clever than I. I placed a spare battery on the gound next to the car.

Thanks to everyone for their replies, and especially to Obin for his kind offer.

I'll have a go this week-end and if I can't make it work I'll ask for the scanned instructions.

Thanks again everyone.
