HELP! Need help with fuse box wiring for Surco installation!
OK, Im crap with electronics, but I think something is amiss with the headlight wiring to the fuse box. (see image below). I have four fuses (#'s 14,15,16 and 17 according t Bentley and fuse box). However, fuses 14 and 17 only have wires going to the bottom of the fuse and none at the top. 15 and 16 have wires on both top and bottom. Now when all fuses are in both highs and lows work fine. But when I alternate taking fuses out, as seen in the diagrams below, the lights act weird.
Also notice the bundled up wires tucked behind the fuse box in the picture. Can anybody help me? Im not sure where to even start. ![]()

I believe 14 & 15 are "jumpered", inside (as part of) the fuse box, on top (feed side). Same with 16 & 17.
17 is lo beam right 16 is low beam left 15 is high beam right 14 is high beam left (plus high beam indicator) Seems to me everything is correct in your pic. - Skip

Fuse 16 is the left headlight low beam (fuse box 2 #3)
Fuse 14 is the left headlight high beam (fuse box 2 #4) Fuse 17 is the Right headlight low beam (fuse box 2 #1) Fuse 15 is the Right headlight high beam (fuse box 2 #2) Where is the problem? |

He is just concerned that the fuse is not fed by a wire. As mentioned, some are fed by a bus. Proceed as the Sucro directions indicate.

So Im assuming I should use fuses 15 and 16 to to the job correct? With 15 being the high beams and 16 being the low beams?

The Sucro instructions are very detailed. Follow them.

BIG problem
Ok, I don't know what happened!!!!
I hooked everything up according to diagram and checked twice all is wired right. It looks to be ok. Turned ignition on and pulled light switch, lights turned on after about 1 second. I cant remember what I did next, but now the lights don't turn on at all. Fuses all look good. I disconnected the relay and hooked it back up as it orginally was and low beams come on. BTW, when relays are hooked up and I push for Hi beams they don't come on either, nor does the "hi-beam" indicator light come on in the car. Did I fry something? Could a relay go bad. I flip flopped the relays and it didn't help anything.

Were the yellow and white wire assumptions I made correct...as it applies to your car ??

Yes they were.
There wires were grey (for the white) and a yellow green (for the yellow). Works like a champ!

redcoupe...time for some TLC in that fuse panel. I would remove the fuses one or two at a time and polish up those contacts..maybe even replace the fuses.
