Talking Just added a third Porsche - a Cayman!!

My wife has been in love with the Cayman since it first came out, so today we bought her one! It's the base model (with 245 HP, it's fine for her) and it's blue. It's beautiful and it's handling is sublime! What a car is all I can say.

So now we have three cars...and they're all Porsches - the '84 Carrera, the 2000 996, and now the 2007 Cayman!

Here's a preliminary picture. I'll post more tomorrow.

Nice new toy! The '84 looks lonely.

I see you got rid of the Bimmer! Just when I thought I caught up to your stable, you mess me up! Now I have to get rid of the 5er and look at a Cayman.

Nice garage!! On a side note, which airframe carries your "450knot" office?? Ever fly up to CYVR? If you do, let me know, I am an approach controller and the unit procedures specialist there, be glad to show you around!

Cheers

Thank you! I fly the Embraer EMB-145. I haven't flown that jet up there yet, but I sure would like to. I've taken it back east to Ottawa and Montreal however.

It's probably really uncouth to complain about this to other people, but it is a frustratingly luxurious problem to have isn't it?

I've had to banish my R32 to the outdoors. She's not happy. I need a third garage space too.

Oh, also, from a passenger's point of view, I've really liked the Embraers I've flown on. Are they good to pilot?

Scott to wife: "Honey, I need to go to the store."
Wife to Scott: "That's fine."
Scott to wife: "Your car is easiest to get out of the garage, so I'll just take it, OK?"
Wife to Scott: "Sure. Where are you going?"
Scott to wife: "Uhhh...."
Wife to Scott: "You're not going to the shops over at Lake Elsinore, are you? You're not taking my new car on Ortega, right? Right? Scott?? Scott?? Damn - he's gone already."

Congrats!

Your Cayman looks great. Love the color.

What do you think of it compared to your other Porsches? It sounds like a heck of a nice car.

But seriously, you are a very lucky couple in my book. What more can a guy wish for. Congrats!

Thanks guys. Kevin, that was funny! Dan, I'm pretty sure the Cayman will not be driven on the track for at least a while. I told her that she needs to enroll in a formal driver's ed course to really learn that car. I suspect she may end up having so much fun that she may end up changing her mind. We'll see.

The car drives great! The dealer gave us the keys for a couple of hours yesterday and we drove it like we owned it. That car's balance really is impeccable. I'm not exaggerating. It feels like an extension of your will. It feels a little down on power compared to the 996 but it does feel quicker than my '84 (and it winds right on up to 7000 RPM willingly. ). For my wife's needs however, the 245 HP mated to the 2900 pound (with full tanks) chassis is more than enough. She was having a blast with the car yesterday.

You know what guys, I think the Cayman really is the new 911.

Nice addition; that car is a beauty........My dad has a silver Cayman S (that car is bad a$$).....he's actually going to sell it if you can believe that.........He loves the car but he's got the fever for a new Targa S.........I would buy it from him but I dont want to make my '84 carrera jealous. LOL. How about a pic of your '84.
Here's mine ........

Sweet looking machine!

Scott, you're going to have to share your secret technique of convincing your wife that the two of you need not one, but three Porsches....

By all means, drop by and visit this week. Maybe if my wife sees it she'll want one too!
