Front a arm dieassembly?

Can I just burn off the ends. When I took the rear spring plates apart I dipped the rubbers in gas then light them on fire. they fell off. Can I do that with the front a arms? I bought used ones becasue one of the ones on my car was bent and got a good deal on them. the ball joints on the ones I bought are good so I'm going to just use them. It looks like the metal pieces that attach to the car are just sitting on there held by the rubber is this true?

Just add some heat around the bushing caps and turn them off with a screwdriver. You don't need to have a big fire.
