What's the impact of this on my engine?

Hi all,

I measured the intake valve lift at TDC on my 993 engine. It turned out to be 0.45mm instead of the 1.1 to 1.2mm.

What kind of impact does this have on the engine power? Torque?

thanks,
anthony

It might be the difference between a collapsed and a pumped up lifter.

I took out the 993 hydraulic lifter and put in a 911/964 solid style lifter and used it to measure the lift.

I heard the timing on the 993 engines can be inconsistent and slip. And yep, it's true.

Just wondering what this does to the power output of the engine.

Your timing is slighly retarded meaning more low end torque and top end power.

Count yourself lucky.
