Are these T or E pistons? And other questions.
I was getting ready to measure this set of 71T P&C's to verify that they are in spec. As i was checking for manufacturer I.D. (MAHLE) I noticed that they are labeled with an E on the underside. Does this indicate that they are "E" pistons? also, on the dome they are stamped with a "1". Does this mean that they are standard size 1? How are the cylinders identified as standard size 0,1 or 2? Also does anybody have the part numbers for 71T & E heads?
TIA, al

E is usually stamped on the intake side.
"Einlass" is German for "inlet" or "intake". Those look like the 8.6/1 CR 2.2 T pistons to me.

Tyson,
They are supposed to be T pistons and now that you mention E being to define the Intake side, for orientation during assembly I suppose, I remember reading/hearing that before. thanks for that info. Any idea on the standard size I.D.? Thanks, al

It's in the little spec book. I'll have a look for you when I go into work tomorrow.

Tyson,
Thanks....Ijust hit my reference books and found two sources that refer to piston or cylinder markings of 0,1 or 2 to indicate standard size, so i'm pretty sure now that these are standard size 1, based on the marking on the dome. If you have time tomorrow and can check I' appreciate it, but i think that I'm ggod to go. regards al
