Sunroof drain tube question

There is a rubber tube at the rear of the sunroof pan. that connects the rear drain hole to the body of the car. I had to cut it out because the PO jammed something into it trying to clear out the trash. I need to replace it and I can't find the part number on Pelican Parts.
Does anyone know the part number?

Thanks
Rick

another sunroof drain tube question

I didn't find an answer to the original poster's question in the other posts that I reviewed and so will start here.

I have water coming in under the right rear seat and collecting in the floorboard. Both my mechanic and I tried clearing the right side sunroof drain using weed wacker string. However, when the string is fed from the bottom of the drain (the engine end) it never comes out at the top. My mechanic has unzipped the headliner and reports that the upper drain tube appears to be connected. So, it appears that the leak is coming from a disconnected lower drain tube. My questions:

1. is there a part number for that drain tube, or could someone suggest the proper type and diameter of tubing that I could perhaps find locally?

2. it appears that the package tray and the rear seat back have to come out in order to access the area where that drain tube is located. Is that assumption correct, and does anyone who has fixed this issue have any tips or suggestions?

Thanks,
David.

HI David the part No' for the sunroof drain tubes are; 911 564 825 00 x2, 911564 825 01 x2, 911 503 581 02 x1 Left, 911 503 582 02 x1 right, try putting some jubilee clips on the pipes, as the water will capillary back up between the 2 pipes, if the outer plastic pipe is now hard.

Chris,
According to my internet search, a "jubilee clip" in the UK is the same thing as a "hose clamp" here in the US.

Mike,
Thanks for the part numbers. Is it possible to use some type of generally available flexible hose, for example using a portion of the hose used for connecting windshield washers in other types of vehicles? Or is this a Porsche-specific type of hose? I'm only wondering about this in case my mechanic cannot easily obtain the parts.

Regards,
David.

Mike,

Thanks again for your assistance. One more question please - of the parts that you listed, for the right side drain which is/are the parts for the lower drain tube (or to put it another way, the drain tube that is closest to the aft end of the car)?

Thanks,
David.

Help!

My mechanic has taken the package tray out of my car, but reports that he is unable to actually get to the right rear drain tube. Could someone reply back with any suggestions for the correct procedure to use to replace these drain tubes?

From my earlier post, my mechanic reported that he visually inspected the upper drain tube that can be seen after unzipping the sunroof access, so he believes that it is the lower tube that is causing the leak.

Thanks,
David.

I did get this leak corrected; mechanic found the end of the disconnected drain tube which had gotten caught in a seam in the pillar and reconnected it to rubber piece.

Regards,
David

huh -- did he put a hose clamp or anything on it?

I bet these tubes rarely rot & most are just loose

Randy,

No hose clamp; the mechanic indicated that the tube went in approx. 1" into the black rubber piece at the bottom of the drain. He said it went in snug and therefore didn't feel it needed glue or a clamp. I was on an airplane when I heard from the mechanic so I didn't get a chance to see how the 2 pieces mated.

Unfortunately I don't have any idea how long the drain tube has been disconnected or how it happened in the first place. I've owned the car about 15 months, and it stays under a car cover almost all the time. I happened to catch the leak after some rain that started while I was out driving and then continued for a few days afterwards during which I couldn't get the car dry before covering it.

Your comment about most plastic drain tubes coming loose rather than rotting makes sense to me.

Regards,
David.
