48 inches....but who's counting....?

HMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...................... ....I think I might as well do the white, better to do what I want and regret making my wife happy all her life...about a stripe ! Like said if it is too obnoxious I can fix it

Joe Bob 01-04-2007 10:50 PM

That's the beauty of vinyl.....it's like a temporary tatoo.....

Lemme know what color you decide on....I have most in stock.

skinnerd 01-04-2007 10:56 PM

kilodawg.....your car looks great.
And that's what I'd vote for....something a little different.
I think they also made a gold stripe that would look good as well.

Hey mikez, how easy/hard is the script to install? I bought a ducktail and I too am thinking about adding the script this spring. (Black script on a white car.)

JBO 01-05-2007 06:36 AM

The silver looks great with the silver painted Fuchs to match. I think the brighter colors look great IF the fuchs are then color-keyed (for example like the white RS replica cars with bright blue script and blue painted fuchs). If you keep your Fuchs black a black script might be better.

Joe Bob 01-05-2007 07:27 AM

On the duck...easy....check my website there are instructions.

The side scripts require a bit of practice....I've sent members replacements more than a few times. If you take your time and measure and have GOOD CLEAN surface your fine.

To me the wheel color plays a role in this though. I prefer the wheels to compliment the stripe. I think a white stripe with black wheels could look a bit out of place; but hey they are easy enough to remove if you don't like the look.

I went with silver centers so I could do this...

This is one of my all-time favorite cars on this board!! Absolutely gorgeous!!

Thanks for the kind words Art.

Here's a shot I just got from a friend today. From our last club drive of 2006 with my son putting on his best attempt at a Jack Olsen face.

kilodawg,

I'm sure you've mentioned it before but what color is your car?

BlueSideUp 01-06-2007 09:03 PM

So what is the correct placement of the Carrera script? I see some that are about 4" off the rockers and others that are an inch or so.

Joe Bob 01-06-2007 09:13 PM

Correct is aligning them with the bumpers height....or whatever YOU like...it's YOUR car.

kilodawg 01-07-2007 08:43 AM

Kurt,

Kiln red (Ziegelrot) an '83 and '84 years only color.

Very-understated, especially when the Porsche isn't a Carrera.:)

Please lets not get into whats not what..as most are not. There are only so many GTO's GT40S, R models and RSR's. So lets not go there.
Mine is 75 S, all numbers match, Have the Porsche birth Certificate and I can put everything back for the Prune who is looking for a pedagreed S should that day come..Untill that day its mine, and I will present my car anyway I want...thankyou

+1. Enjoy it, it is your car.

rennch 01-07-2007 07:29 PM

As a designer, if I were to have a red car, I'd go darker or lighter a few shades of red and try that out. Try photoshopping some colors, and give it a shot. It would look very understated and modern.
