Will this 5 spd fit my 66 2.0?

It should physically fit, the '70-71 type 911 transmission is dimensionally very similar to the 901 5 speed that was optional with a '66. It is made of less robust magnesium alloy, which is something else to consider. There are a couple of issues to consider.

1) The 70 911 5-speed uses the "pull type" clutch that is different from earlier transmissions. The clutch, pressure plate, TO bearing, etc are more expensive than the earlier parts. The ad mentions a new disc and resurfaced flywheel, so you might want a new pressure plate and TO bearing. Many people space out the clutch fork when they use a resurfaced flywheel to maintain the right fork location with respect to the flywheel surface. There is more information available using the search feature. You'll also need a new clutch cable and all of the little plastic linkage pieces that need to be in perfect condition. A properly maintained and adjusted pull clutch works very well, so don't let that discourage you.

2) Your current axles should bolt on, but I'm not 100% sure. Someone who knows more about this might be able to throw some light on this issue.

3) The '70 911 transmission came with a "simplified differential" that can be a huge time bomb. There are several interesting threads on this. Suffice it to say that I am seriously second guessing my decision to keep the original (but good condition) simplified diff parts when I had my trans rebuilt.

If it was me simple laziness would favor waiting for a type 901 5-speed that would just bolt in.

To add to the Matt's comments, there might be compatibility issues with the U-joints on a 66. The factory used Nadella U-joints and Lobro CV joints in the early gearboxes/drive flanges. The Nadella joints are an open universal joint-style and attach to the drive stubs with 4 bolts. The 71 gearbox uses Lobro CVs. If your car currently uses Lobros, the upgrade should be pretty straightforward, less so with Nadellas.

I think I should just wait for the 5 spd 901 then, what years was it available? 71 and before?

Matt is right on with #1 & #3. It is also possible to drill and insert for the 2.0 (215 mm) clutch. This can be done without undoing the ability to go back to the 2.2 (225 mm) configuration.

About the only way to adapt the axle flanges is to make steel adaptors and weld them on the 2.2 flanges. The ’66-‘68 Lobro axle flanges won’t fit the differential in the ’70-’71. There is plenty of room to do this because the Type 911 transmission axle flanges are considerably closer together compared to the 901.

Another issue is the 2-3-4-5 gear ratios in the Type 911 A-GA-O-V-ZA are considerably longer than the 901 A-F-M-S-X.

The easiest solution is to find a ’67 with a reinforced input shaft and the non-simplified differential.
