Hazet spark plug tool number?

Can anyone tell me the exact tool number of the Hazet spark plug tool that works for 911's. Their website (www.hazet.com)is good but I can't find this specific tool. Note that this is in reference to the thread "Original Tool Kit / Spark Plug Tools?". THANKS!

The correct tool number is 2505-2. You will find it under Products catalogue\Specialty tools\motor electricity-spark plugs\2502-2 spark plug wrench.

Is that eally the tool? It looks kinda different in the picture than the one still remaining in my buddy's 911. Just wanna make sure before I get one.

My Porsche factory manual (presumably listing all tools ever made since it includes 356 tools) and dated Feb.28, 1995 gives the following tools (all I could find that look like possibles) for spark plug removal (doesn't show anything in the Porsche manual with a 2505-2 number ---

Tool#: "P3"
Porsche part#: "X" (means none)
Description: "Spark plug wrench"

Tool#: "P117c"
Porsche part#: "X" (means none)
Description: "Spark plug socket"


... that's all they list called "Spark Plug" something-or-other (only found 2 and both were for the 356's --- wonder what you should make of that?

As I never was the proud owner of an original Porsche tool set, I cannot tell whats inside.

But with recommendation from a Porsche mechanic (they use it in their workshop)I bought the Hazet tool and since I first tried it, I am convinced its the best tool for changing the plugs, making life a lot more easy.

You didn't mention what year yours was but this is what I've got for the tool bag contents for 911s thru 1979 (date of the factory manual I'm looking at):

---looks like the Spark plug wrench is identified by Porsche# 477.012.203 - no mention of how to translate that to the Hazet#

The Porsche sparkplug tool that comes in the factory tool kit is not made by Hazet. The tool I have is marked "Klein W. Germany"

Charlie is right! Mine says Klein 21, which I assume means 21 mm, of course!

Appearancewise, it looks like a shortened version of 2506, but with 13/16" socket instead of 5/8", and with a 10 mm hex drive, rather than the 3/8" square drive ... in case anyone is interested!

The Hazet part was not designed for the 911, so its a bit awkward to use.

The correct plug spanner can be bought online at www.dornstrauch.com , they ship worldwide, part number is DS1011 and its around $25 USD (£14), complete with Allen key I think.

The klein one is not available anymore in its original form, no spring included, the original one rusts after a while, especially in the 12 point 10mm socket, the Dornstrauch one is zinc plated so should last longer.
