wild!....BBS made a Fuchs-like wheel???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-BBS-Race-Roadwheel-Porsche-Wheels-Rims-NR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43958QQihZ009QQitemZ 190069004605QQrdZ1

I've never seen these before.
Does anyone know more about these Fuchs looking wheels made by BBS?
I assume they are cast alloy? not forged?

The link is bad. You can search by the item number: 190069004605

I think it's safe to say the seller doesn't know what he's talking about, since he advertises new, mint wheels and then shows a photograph of a wheel weight used to balance them.

It's hard to tell from the photograph if they're regular Fuchs (maybe repainted, and at an odd angle), welded wheels made out of Fuchs, or cast knock-offs, or what. He doesn't show any BBS branding in the pictures.

Look like regular (but painted) fuchs to me, especially given the offsets 23 and 15 and size, 16 x 7 and 16 x 9 and the fact that they came off a 1987 911 turbo...

I think he's listing as BBS because there is a BBS wheel wrench included - probably for a different set of wheels.

hmm the ET from the 9J is like a real Fuchs wheel. I,m not sure but there were no 9J replicas. This could be a nice set 7x9x16 Fuchs wheels.

The same seller's got another set of "BBS" wheels on ebay that look like cookie cutters:

Petertarga:
DP replicas are real fuchs that are widened.
Always ask for porsche part no. when buying fuchs.

The 9s have a 951 part #, maybe widened 7s or 8s?

951.362.119 does not appear to be a valid wheel type from what I can find. There were 951 7s and 8 (end in .115 and .117) which I have a few sets of.

I contacted the sellers on these and got the following response:

Thanks for your email! They are in excellent condition and not new. That is a slight error in the listing. We did not see a fox on the wheels but they are stamped as follows.

951362119
and
911352115

The deeper wheels are 16.5 lbs each. The shallower ones are 14.5 lbs each.

Thanks for your interest in our item. Good luck and happy bidding!

There is a 911362119 - so it might have been a screw up, I asked them to clarify and didn't receive an answer. The painted sides are a little concerning.

BTW - anaologmike, you make fantastic pedals.

I wast just sent some pics of the backs:

http://www.bigdropauctions.com/images/apr05_img/8505/1a.jpg
http://www.bigdropauctions.com/images/apr05_img/8505/2a.jpg
http://www.bigdropauctions.com/images/apr05_img/8505/3a.jpg
http://www.bigdropauctions.com/images/apr05_img/8505/4a.jpg

It looks like the part number on the 9's has an over-stamp and the last number may have been changed from a 6 to a 9. This would make the part# 951362116 - which would make it an 8' designated as silver metallic for winter use (maybe the strange shell finish?).
