High Temp Grease recommendations
I am getting ready to assemble and install new cross shaft, updated clutch fork, throw out bearing and pilot bearing in a g-50 87 carrera. I have done some research and have found that Redline and Amzoil are the only manufactures of a 500 F. grease.
Does anyone have a better solution? I am also planning on repacking the T/O bearing and pilot bearing after a good solvent wash to make sure they are filed w/ the good stuff. I figure these parts have been sitting someplace before my purchase so the part manufactures grease has dried out at least a little. Thanks Keith Epperly 87 slant nose turbo look carrera cabriolet |

A better solution? What's wrong with Red Line? It's the grease I use. (Not that that makes it right...)

I thought that the redline CV-2 was considered one of the best greases you could buy. I used it on everything I own....

There are higher temperature rated greases available but they don't do well with high bearing speeds. Why do you think you need more than 500F capability for a clutch cross shaft bearing or a release bearing?

In the area the clutch shaft is located, I don,t wish to visit
it anytime soon and wanted to put in the best temp and durability wise. Keith Epperly 87 slant nose turbo look carrera cabriolet |
