oh and don't forget to switch the badging back to '912'.

I love hot rods, but that is one nice car the way it is. I would keep it the way it is!

Remember, todays RS flares are tomorrows impact bumpers.

Looks like my original idea of keeping it narrow is the consensus here too. It is way to late to not modify it though. It was major surgery to convert it to a 6. It was done right to the point that with the exception of looking at the vin no one would ever be able to tell it started off life as a 912. The suspension is already extremely modified with late model carrera front suspension, turbo tie rod ends, 23mm front and 28 mm rear torsion bars. S brakes in the front, Seats are scat procar redone in german vinal, momo proto tipo wheel, Oh and of course the mods for the roll cage. What I am getting at is that as far as having some prestine 'original' car it is not. That is why I started to contemplate the RS flares ... You can always find cars that are easy candidates to cut up / modify but you end up spending as much or more in rust repairs etc... I have looked at hundreds of rust buckets, accident survivors, generally tired 911's I would just never want to start from that point.

I do appreciate the sentiments on the looks and condition of the car. When I bought it back it was like bringing home a long lost relative.

It would be cool to have a 3.6 swb that looks pretty stock... just concerned with the axles. I guess if I dont do anything really stupid the small early axles will hold up..

Thanks for all the comments so it is Slate Gray? will post the color code later.

That is a stunning car.

Glad you're not cutting it up!

I'd buy that car off you before letting you cut it up. Engines? Put a 2.7 or 3.0 in it. It'll be faster than a violated primate. :D

Much great advice here. Although I'm not a fan of the additional unsprung weight steelies add to your ride. Sounds like a great car. Have fun. And don't add those flares! :D

Larry_Ratcliff 01-15-2007 04:43 PM

I will have to keep it with fuchs and talbots... the talbot mirror that is on it is the way it came from the factory... putting 73 mirrors on it would not look right to me. It had the steel wheels on it when I first got it... I really like fuchs...

way cool car. You've already got the "big block" porsche. I'd go with a rev-happy small displacement motor shooting for around 220-245 h.p. ...that would be a way fun car.

Enjoy it.
