How to clean my new Kumho MXs.

Just got my new Kumhos. Can't wait to drive home. How do I get all this white stuff off my new tires? I know elbow grease will work but I'd love to know an easier way.

Buying stuff for my car does make me excited. Mocking others does not make me excited.

I would try some tire cleaners that they sell at Autozone. There is one at Magnolia and Vineland. BTW, I have been running those MX's on my 85 Carrera for about 2 years. I have run many autocrosses, and TRE runs, not to mention many trips to Mulholland. I have gone to San Diego, Vegas, Santa Barbara, Sonoma, all over and these things are still in perfect shape. They wear like iron and stick like glue. I have even won some of those Autocrosses! Enjoy them!!

A bottle of "Vinylex" protectant from Lexol will work wonders. It will also keep your new tires looking new without the greasy look, like many other tire products.

I use lacquer thinner for the white, yellow or red dots that come on the sidewall. Thinner also seems to restore the sidewall to a 'factory matte' look.

so due to what appears to be a lack of sense of humor on yer part i guess there is no sense in asking how it feels to be a member of the kuhmo MX partridge family?

i will explain before you get all heated up again, look at the graphics on the side of the MX's that looks like the old emblem from that musical family we ALL grew to love in the 70's. are you a partridge?

My guess is he didn't get the "white stuff" joke. If he did then you are correct, no sense of humor. I thought that was a good one.

It made me laugh at my desk loud enough that someone asked what was so funny !!!

I, for one, appreciated the humor, keep it up!

Oh yeah, I am also a member of the "Come on get HAPPY" crowd....

I second the ajax and brush to start. Brought home many a tire with the same excitement and frustration.

MXs are very good dry tires...don't get caught in a downpour with them, though.
