The sin of vanity
I made some fairly useless but esthetically pleasing changes to my car recently. A side stripe (which maybe would have been better in grey), and a carbon fiber CIS air cleaner. That one was not totally useless because a tab holding the original rubber strap was broken on the air box. Good taste or poor taste?

I like it. Never got to love the CIS air cleaner. My view is that with the cost to repair and maintain these cars along with the fact that most of us are not daily driving them, every ounce of joy and happiness you can extract is worth it.

The only problem with it is it makes the rest of your engine bay look like crap. Time to start planning a top end rebuild and cerakote or PC everything, replate things, etc. :P

It's a slippery slope - starts with a filter housing, and as Addvanced stated, you'll be pulling all kinds of bits off for re-plating. There are worse things to be addicted to though!

Cant stop making it pretty
Yup, post engine out, backdated heat supply, dedicated LED light with switch on fuse cover, steel fuel lines, airbox, oil filter cooler, redone CDI, larger accumulator (painted)...etc etc

Nothing wrong with some side stripeage! And Bryan does a sweet job on the CIS air cleaners. Shaun at Tru6 for the fan and housing resto too.
