Is the is the famous Harlequin from Pelican??

I was surfing the net and stumbled on this...it's GOT to be our man Harlequin, right? Alacantera (sp?) on the dash and everything. I like the chuckle at the end when he finally stopped moving. pheeeewww.!

Gotta love that evil laugh at the end - like you just escaped death...........or a SERIOUS hit to the savings account. The continued speed across that wet grass is impressive.

Man, you could see that coming.....hehehehehe.

The good news is, if he hit the rail, there wouldn't be any marks as it looks to be the same color as his car.

He's a good driver. Probable more p*ssed about not catching whoever he was after then anything else. You haven't driven your 911 untill youv'e had a couple of these. Just keep em on the track.

heh heh, thanks for the laughs guys. in "track speak" i'm sticking w/ the i-ran-out-of-pavement-or-i'd-have-saved-it excuse
speaking of flailing arms, here's one from midO:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2527641516678666381

i *was* happy getting away w/ it b/c, as it was noted, the car just TOOK OFF when i hit the wet grass. you *know* about it but it still surprises you when you experience it for yourself

the wink had some 'finishing trim' on the edges of the mirrors and i always manage to hit it w/ the flailing arms. it's long gone now.

Wathced it a couple of times and I think the chuckle is for the very last counter steering just before he comes to a rest prevented the left front from kissing the guardrail...and his checking account!

LOL, you got it! in my head i remember a flash thought of parallel parking to see if i could *ease* the car longitudinally towards the rail. the end tucked in and it worked

as for the checking account, someone took care of that for me during a club race a month later

OK. I got a good chuckle out of that one! That was a "Hey, cool, I just parallel parked this thing after sliding through the grass, just like I planned. How cool is this? And my car's OK" laugh.

Thanks for posting that. You're a pretty cool cucumber, Harlequin.

That is me in the black 914 in your wink mirror on the Mid-Ohio flailing hands video. I thought for sure you were going to lose it, but you recovered nicely.
