Question What's a mint 74 Carrera worth?

Check this out....just wondering what the market value of this so called mint 74 Carrera would be.

BTW, I know what the owner is asking, but I'll leave you in suspense for now..

Mint means stock. Wheels are painted, non OEM exhaust, don't know about the mud flaps. I can't say if the roll bar helps or the strut bar up front. CIS, not MFI 2.7.

It's a good looking car. I'd say $16K.

I would guess he's asking $30,000 or more.

$30K gets you into MFI Carrera territory. As good as they are, I can't see paying that for a CIS model.

It looks very nice, but not completely original as stated.

$17K would be the high end of fair, especially if he's trying to sell it to a "Porsche person." Could get a lot more from someone not as up on Porsche's.

I'm guessing he's asking $22K.

The '74 US spec Carreras were all show and no go. The engine was the same as the regular '74 911S, with about the same performance as a '73 911E. The '75 US Carreras had thermal reactors and smog stuff, and they performed like a '73 911T. In other words, the US Carreras amounted to a cosmetics kit and are nothing to get excited over. I wouldn't pay more than $2-3000 additonal for a Carrera over a similar year/condition 911S.

The '74 ROW Carrera has the MFI 2.7 high compression with performance similar to the '73 Carrera RS. This is the car to have and is worth the big bucks.

Fog lamps should have chromed housings on a 74, but it also has some other non original mods so my point is somewhat moot

That said, if it is as represented, I can see that car bringing in the high 20's , possibly low 30's.

Just try to find a euro mfi 2.7 Carrera in nice shape for less than 32-35k now- none around!

I looked at a 74 MFI a few months ago for $60K. It was worth it.

It's been repainted, poorly IMHO (look at the pictures of the ID plates), notice the rear valence - it was originally for a singe exit exhaust but has dual exits on it, the H4's probably are not stock either... looks like a nice car but it isn't in original, authentic condition as stated.

The detail work on the repaint was HORRENDOUS!!! Just look at the runs, blisters, and painted-over DIRTY spots around the engine compartment stickers!

Anyone paying more than $10K for that car is an absolute idiot! The car is a wannabe, second class, too ... not mint, not original by a long ways!

Oh, don't forget the 'original' K & N Filter decal on the snorkel! That must add at least $2K to the engine rebuild!

Got to love those 'classic' terrycloth seat covers ... just what every classic car collector is looking for!

If somebody herwe buys it and decides to part it out ... I'll take the H1s for $1K ...

My '74 had black housings, not chrome. They were original Bosch, too. Earlier 911s have chrome, IIRC.
