Motor ID? Prior threads no help
I've searched the prior threads but no definitive answer was provided. Does anyone know a web site that allows you to look up you P id numbers for the engine and other parts? My engine number is "64 FO 456 1" (stamped on the right side of the case below the fan housing) and I can't find a reference to it it anywhere. ALso confusing is that the fan housing is numbered "930 106 101 OR", and the exhaust is 930.211 025 01. If is possible the PO swithched parts with a 3.0 turbo? The PO had rebuilt the engine. I just want to know if it is the same motor is was born with. Any help is appreciated.

The closest fan housing number I found was 930.106.102.07 and it fits a 1984-89 911. Hope this helps! Huey581 86' 911 Cab |

Just a bit of general info about casting numbers ... they are not even close to the actual part number of the finished product!
And, if get the engine 'type number' stamped into the crankcase near the serial number ... you can look up what hind of engine you have, either in the spec book for your car, or in Bruce Anderson's Handbook! All 3.0 and 3.2 engines have 930 type numbers in the /02 thru /26 range! They also have 930.xxx.xxx engine casting numbers, too! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |
