My new ride with pics!!

I just brought this beauty home today so I don't have any freshly waxed clean shots yet. The car is a 1985 Carrera with just over 75,000 miles. It's all original and in excellent condition save for the typical stone chips in the 22-year old paint. Everything on the car works but the cruise contro, but who really needs cruise control in a 911 anyway?
Here are a couple mediocre pictures for now. I'll post some more once I get her all cleaned up.

Thanks Jack, now I'm a part of the Black 911 clan. I love black...when it's clean.

Smitty, it's not 3.6 middy, but it'll do.

Ryan, It was only an hour or so away from my house, but in this part of the country it can be sunny one minute and snowing like crazy the next. I mainly brought it home on a trailer to avoid the road salt and doing any 360's like you did on your way home!

I've already bought a set of H4's that will probably go on here. I just like the cleaner lines of the H4's as opposed to the sugar scoops.

Michael - first of all, beautiful car! Congrats!!

I noticed you are in Grand Rapids.....and I'm guessing (based on your username) that your last name is something starting with Van Wyk---. The reason I ask is because I bought my '89 Carrera from Delta Imports in Grand Rapids last summer. I remember finding an old insurance card under the seat and the name of the owner was something starting with "Van". Did you ever own a red '89 Carrera coupe?

I know the car spent its life in southwest Michigan, but I have not attempted to contact any of the prior owners. Seeing your post got me curious .

Matt, like Ryan said, there are a lot of Dutch people in the West Michigan area, and if you looked in the phone book for this area for last names beginning with "Van" you would have many, many pages to go through.

well I thought we might have a coincidence here, but the abundance of Dutch in GR certainly explains it .

Congrats again on your new ride!

Here are some new pics after I adjusted the front ride height lower to get rid of the stink bug look. This was a 15-minute job if that, so it will need some fine tuning later. It's 20 degrees here today, but I will be giving her a bath in the driveway since I have hot water in the garage! The rear tires are too tall as you will note in the side profile shot, but I will be replacing all the tires with something more aggressive anyway. The engine compartment is clean enough to eat from!
