Bilstein RSR struts - revalve?

Well, my front spindles are shot so I'm ordering a set of Bilstein RSR 19mm raised spindle assemblies with 220/100 valving (not the older 160/161). Any thoughts as to whether these should be revalved?

My car is an 85 Carrera, 2600lbs, 22mm tbars in the front, 22mm adjustable sway, street driven to and from the track for about 10 events a year.

FWIW, rear has 30mm tbars with Bilstein sports valved at 380/140 and a 25.4mm adjustable sway.

Send your car specs and struts to Steve at Rennsportsystems and call it a day. You will not be disappointed. If you have not bought them yet, buy them from him too!

Cheers

Yeah, I probably should. I guess I'm more curious as to the purpose of the 220/100 valving. I mean, these assemblies are made for 911s of rthe track, correct - unless someone knows of another application for them - so someone somewhere sat down and said "220/100 - that's perfect!".

So I'm wondering who was this valving designed for? What do guys who get their front shocks get them revavled to?

Call Bilstein's west coast office and talk to Jack, he is the one that does the valving. I just sent my shocks and inserts to him for re-valving. He asked the torsion bar sizes, car weight and purpose of the car and gave me the rebound/damping i should use.

Go to their website and click to Road Race application guide and you can compare what you have to their spec sheet. Your fronts match pretty close to a 993 race car, the rears only come close to a 944 listed.
