Talking A nice day for a drive in the snow

We've had a lot of snow here the past few days. Finally a chance to try my new set of winter tires

Tires are 205/55-16 Bridgestone Blizzak on 6 and 7 x 16.
55mm spacers at the rear. And yes, I could use a pair of spacers on the front wheels too...

Too bad the heater doesn't work yet.

Any other 911 winter pictures?

Great pics - Scandinavian stile ! Keeping up the Björn Waldegård legacy! Perfect with red in the snow. I dare not drive my GP White in the snow. I would be run over within a minute by a soccer mom SUV who probably would not even notice me..

I was expecting to see some action photos with a scandinavian style WRC slide around a corner! Kudos for not being afraid to drive your 911 in the winter!!

How's the understeer on snow covered roads... massive or just ridiculous?
After having driven AWD w/ limited slip transfer case and rear axle posi for so many years I could not imagine taking my 911 out into traffic in the snow, not to mention the salt and rocks the highways dept puts down for us.
They didn't put heaters and defrosters in these cars for nothing, though!

do you hate your blizzaks on dry roads as much as i do ? they are terrific on snow and ice but lordy, are they ever awful on the dry. squirmy as hell, and no feedback, like driving a truck. i can't wait 'til spring.

I did that a couple years ago when I had to move the car in the winter (on 225 and 285 summer tires). The heater did work at that time though, it just looked cool with the top off.

I'm surprised of how well it handles with the Blizzaks

I'm thinking of raising the front end a few centimeters to get some additional clearance.

We got our first snow here and I took the c4 out to try her in the snow. Handles even better than my wife's 4 motion w8 passat :-) Did some donuts in the snow covered mall parking lot. The awd is much more seamless than with the 4motion, even though it's an early 964. Very impressed.

Wish I could remember if I put the snow tires in the front in my old Corvair? The front needs the traction. I think we used studded tires in those days. I remember putting a weight in the front trunk.

Ove, we HAVE to have some action shots.....you can't just post some static pics of your car with snowies on and no sideways shots! go and get a mate on camera duties and tell him its urgent!

Hey Ove, we have yet to have any snowfall here...but they are looking for some soon! I know many don't like to drive in the snow, but I really enjoy it in the 911.

With no heat it's not colder driving with the roof off.
Sorry, no action shots yet, but here are some pics from today.

Looks very nice. I like to see 911s driven everywhere all of the time.

Good Job!

I had to drive mine (the C4) to the mechanic for the out of province inspection yesterday. Once I got it back, I figured, it's already dirty, might as well drive it.

I'll be driving it to work tomorrow too. I'll wash it up before I put it back into hibernation for a few more months.

I've tried to drive the 77 in the snow a few times and it is terrible with the wide rear tires that have the onset of male pattern baldness.

Scott.
