Adjustable Spring Plate Upgrade

Has anyone installed the adjustable spring plate upgrade to allow for easier adjustability of the rear of your car (Sway-A-Ways). Do you think it was worth the cost overall for its limited use. Was it difficult to install (I've heard about problems with stock torsion bars fitment). I have to replace the bushings anyway on my '86 cab so I thought I might try them. TIA!

Unfortunately, lowering the rear of your 911/912/930 is not nearly as easy as lowering the front. That is until you install Sway-A-Ways Adjustable Spring Plate kit! Now your rear ride height can be adjusted to your desired level with a simple turn of a bolt. Comes complete with plastic bushings. Sold in pairs. Note: When using adjustable spring plates with stock torsion bars, the splines may be a tight fit and require a small amount of hand fitting.

The beauty of these spring plates is that they make it soooo much easier to adjust. Trust me, you will be glad you did it. You'd be surprisd how much the suspension settles after 100 miles or so not to mention 30k. Who wants to reindex torsion bar splines more than once to get it dialed in? Not me. Not to mention if you change your mind down the road about ride height. I've never regretted upgrades I've done. Only the ones I didn't do while I had the chance.

I am doing the spring plate upgrade right now. A few things I have noticed. The bushings on my car need to have a spacer added that wasn't provided. There is about an 8mm gap between outer bushing and the inner metal plate. Maybe this is just for my year, but this should'nt happen for $325 plates. I have to order another bushing to cut for a spacer. I also had to grind a bit of the outer plate off to fit around the spring plate bolt housings. When this is completed, I will be done. The previous post is correct in that the infinite adjustment is key. It now is exactly like the fronts are, and they are easy.
If you need to grind the polyurethane bushings, use a hole saw that fits the inner dimensions tightly. Now you can use the power of a drill to press the bushing against a coarse grit sandpaper to reduce the outer diameter until it fits the housings perfectly. Saves much time.
