Yes, buy the PMO's and put them on yourself, adjustment of them is much easier than webers, cost approx $3500 or so. fuel economy will drop, throttle response will improve and it will make the car seem faster. the question is "is it worth it"? good running CIS is hard to beat. Depending on the state where you are registered, you will most likely not pass emission testing.

I don't mean to downplay the conversion, it's nice and looks nice but for me it just didn't seem to be worth the money when I had a 74 911. I ended up dropping a nice 3.0l into my car and liked the reliability and added power at just slightly more cost. I put a 3.0 in with different cams, SSI's and high pro exhaust and had 70 more real horses.

thanks again. i just thought converting it is the easy way to more horses. yes, i'm still debating on swapping 2.7 to 3.0 or 3.2. i like to keep the matching numbers. my car runs really good no problem. it's been a daily driver for me.

ros,
I found a nice set of 40IDA Webers on the net for $1,000. I got the rest of the carb equipment, linkage, regulator, filters lines, air cleaners, etc. from PMO for $600. Solex cams from John Dougherty for under $400. Pistons from JE for $1,000. Did all the work myself. So for $3,000 I'm getting around 200 hp with my 2.7L. This year I put in a '72 transaxle (lower ratios) for $1,500. My car now runs with and beats stock 3.0's and 3.2's. Some 964's too. 95% track car, won't pass smog. Lot's of fun on the track.
