My First Anniversary

Well it’s been an amazing year of learning about my 88 Carrera. I have done so much it is almost like driving a completely new car. I would like to give special thanks to Pelican parts and everyone on the board that has helped me. There is no way I could or would have attempted everything that I have done without this great place.

Things complete so far:

Installed turbo tie rods and front end alignment
Replaced the Rotors
Replaced brake Pads
Replaced brake lines
Replaced CV boots
Replaced sunroof seals
Replaced front trunk seal
Changed Trans fluid
Valve Adjustment, plugs, changed oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter
Replaced complete interior carpet
New floor mats
Tinted the windows
Replaced front and rear seats
Replaced the steering wheel with a 930 style
Replaced and covered new RS style door panels
Replaced all window switches
Replaced all 4 speakers
Replaced the stereo
Replaced all 4 tires
Replaced my Fuchs with newly finished/polished ones
Installed MK 1 in 1 outwith cat bypass

Still several things (new console and shift boot waiting to go in) to do but I am at a point now where driving is a blast!

Here are a few pics of my pride and joy.

Before

After

Congratulations !!

Looks real nice

I picked up my 82 Targa one year ago last week.
Only work done during the year was replacing CV bolts, alternator and a heater cable plus putting 4,000 miles on the car.

Next weekend is the oil change & brake Fluid change.

Enjoy !

Nice job, Dave!
I am not a big fan of polished petals but they work on your car.

Thanks - they can be any color you want when you cover them yourself!

Elegant and beautiful!

Great work!

When you replace the rear shocks, get the head temp sensor also. How are your engine compartment fuel lines?

I bought the door panel kit (not upholstered) from AppBiz and the German vinyl from World Imports. Heres a few more shots of the interior. The color changes with the lighting when I took the pics but the seats and panels are all very close. The color is Champagne II. I have a "like new" center console and new boot that is waiting to replace the one in the pic. You cant see it but it has marks on is so it has to go.

That is a beauty. The only thing I would do is lower it just a tad.

5 big speed bumps in my neighborhood designed to slow down the kids, gave me issues.
