02 sensor wire ? need help!
I was checking my 02 sensor and followed the wire into the left hand side of the engine compartment and discoverd it was not connected to anything at all, the end of the wire almost looks like a sparkplug plug it has a white material inside but nothing connected looks like something broke of the end. Can someone please let me know where this wire goes to and what the connector should look like. The car is running fine and the dash light indication 02 is not on?? It does seem to get pretty poor gas milage.
83SC 81K miles any and all help is appreciated. George |

The OXS light will not come on when something is wrong. It just comes on after X miles. I think X equals 30,000.
The O2 sensor plugs into a silver pin thing that sticks out near the fuel accumulator in front of the fuse box in the engine compartment. It points straight out, toward the engine. Nothing is broken. It will connect just fine. Some mechanics like to just disconnect them. Tuned properly, the engine does not need it to be plugged in and working. Mine is plugged in and working. ------------------ '83 SC |
