I can understand why people don't drive their cars like that anymore: it destroys them!

I hope you were being facetious.

What an awesome video! Stunning photography and editing.

That video demonstrates the difference between Porsches and Ferraris. Porsches are meant to be thrashed!

Garage-queen matrons and concours q-tippers hide your eyes!!

Is that video available for purchase or download in full rez?

Pretty gutsy to slide a car on a dirt road with abyss on the outside edge of the road ... I guess that's rallye driving. Nice video!

Good video E. I wonder if anyone has stripped out a Cayenne Turbo S for the Pike's Peak yet.

That was NOT my first thought!

Great video. If these cars truly had a soul, I'd argue that this is just the kind of thing they live for!

I know where you're are on the statement.. and that's cool.. I don't come from that school of thought. I feel I am will die one day soon maybe not.. and I bought a Porsche to enjoy it.. and I WILL. I'll drive it and let someone else restore the bugger.. just the like the generation of the old ars did for us.. they drove them... and now WE enjoy fixing them.. it's the cycle of life man.. all anyone does by not driving the Porsche the bought everyday and enjoying it is.. keep it in nice condition for the next guy to HOPEFULLY go out and drive.

but hey 911nut.. I understand where are are comming from. and that's cool..
to each his own..as I always say. Me.. I'll drive mine as often as I can..

911nut,
please do not take my reply as an attack on you.. I hope you don't read it as such.. because it's not . we just have different views on Porsche ownership. and that's cool... we both love Porsche we both love te ladies.. and I would guess we both love Beer.. so I call ya a buddy none the less. hahhaa

S-man,
I agree I wouldlike to know how one would fair in the Open truck or SUV class up the peak.

I tell ya I love the first part where he opened the garage door and puled that little 356 out... and took it drifting around the snow covered corners.. I am sure there was no salt on those roads.. so it's really just like rain or washing the car for that mattter.. ahahah none the less it was a great video. I thought you guys would love to se.. for some reason videos of that nature always make me feel very proud to be able to own a fine sports car like a Porsche.

Jeff Zwart. He not only knows how to drive well, his film work is equally impressive. Pretty sure the latter is his line of work.

you have to get them a little sideways once in a while, don't you? The 356 in the snow looks like great fun.

great vid! ( well, I could do without the cayenne). makes me want to get a 914 again.

we gotta remember, this is what these cars were designed and built for. admittedly I wouldn't do it with my 40 year old car now, but in the day, that's why people bought them. and it won't ' destroy ' them, these cars are amazingy tough! a buddy rode in my car with me and couldn't believe how I drove an ' old ' car. well, it's not really old. most of what matters is new, and after going thru the car end to end myself. I KNOW what I've got and what it can do.

that scene of the hairpin on pikes peak got me in the cojones.

Rory, no worries there. I've been attacked here before and I know what that feels like. What we're having here is an exchange of philosophies. That's why I hang out here. Concur on the women and beer comment too. We'll certainly have a few beers next time I'm in Dayton.

I've had my low-mileage, never see rain garage queen and I won't do that again. When I bought my turbo I was after a car that I could drive in a carefree manner and that's what I do.

I do draw the line at usage on gravel roads and in snow, slush and mud however. I like for my car to look good as opposed to being "rode hard and put away wet".

It made me cringe to see that beautiful 356 out in the snow........I couldn't do that to a beautiful old car.....too valuable IMO, I guess.

It's one thing for Jeff to drive like that. Remember, it wasn't his car. that makes it a lot easier.
