1986 RS America
I have been thinking about modifications to my"86 Carrera. I began to think about what Porsche would have built if they would have concieved of the RS America in 1986.
What do you guys think Porsche would have built. Suspension, Engine, Body, Interior? Lets see the groups creativity on this. If it sounds good I may build one!

Basically, a stock Carrera with plain door panels and a whale tail.
The RS America's engine was no different than a standard 911. It just weighed a couple hundred pounds less by eliminating some creature comforts, and limiting the options available. I think the suspension upgrades were pretty minor, but made a fairly big difference because of the weight saved. Relatively minor changes, but they made for a great package. |

they also would have recieved the 'better' engines.... same thing as the 996 gt3rs vs. the gt3's....same rating...but the rs's were the overachievers....
so add headers and a sw chip and you'll be good to go. -along with lossing ~250-350lbs.

Porsche kinda did build one... The 911 Carrera Club Sport.
I think the CS cars had less or no sound deadening, no sunroof or AC, spoilers front and rear, 16" Fuchs (7 & 8), manual crank windows, and some other weight saving measures. I'm sure someone who actually ownes one will chime in. http://www.theautobahn.com/forum/showcar.php?do=view_page&car_model_id=180&article_id=144 -Garen (87 930 home-made club sport!) |

This is great guys. Lots of ideas. I know there is a Club Sport in Denver. I will need to look it up.

Or you could just get a Turbo look and gut it from it's creature comforts.

"SC/CS"
Carrera CS... the SC/RS was a real changeling... or was there a SC/CS I've never heard of?
