I need a Bra

Looking for a Colgan 2 piece bra for my 82 SC, with Fog lights, headlamp washers and licence plate holes.

Not too concerned about the headlamp washer holes as my washers dont work anyway.

I live in Manchester in the UK, but obviously would be prepared to pay any shipping costs.

Thanks Guys.

Much Appreciated.

Thanks, i know but was hoping to find a second hand one as it's not something i would use very often. Just for the odd long road trip.

If your paint is still in good condition I would recommend finding a shop near you that sells and installs the 3m clear bra. I would not recommend getting a colgan or any bra of that type as it will destroy your paint.

I have bras for both of my cars. I tried to install the bra on my 90 before leaving NV on the trip up here last month. The bra would not allow the hood to close because the hood fit is too tight (and it has never been ovv or in an accident. I ended up running without the bra and getting a few minor chips...

Why not be honest here? Basically, he's asking for somebody willing to buy, then repackage and send a bra as a "gift". What??? The Governments of the world don't have enough money to make our lives miserable with???

I don't see where anybody could be getting the idea that Andy wants this sent 'duty free' or that he is being anything less than honest. These things don't cost a lot used and the dollar is two to a pound, so any duty to be paid on a second-hand bra this side of the pond would be minimal.

No one in the UK uses those bra things, so they don't exist second-hand over here. Most of us are giving him a hard time about wanting one in the first place (the words 'gimp mask for your car' have been used), but as he has just has a repair job costing $12,000 done on the front of his beloved 911, he is obsessing about his factory-fresh paint and is still keen to get one. No point buying a new one, as it's only going to be used on maybe one long road trip a year, so he is after a used one in good condition. If used doesn't materialise, maybe he'll spring for new from Wayne. It all sounds fair enough to me.

Sorry to hear you are giving up your car Paul.

Just out of interest (and to get some more SC pics on the board) this is the car Andy wants to keep chip free, as photographed for Total 911 magazine:

This is it (right) and two others at the start of their 3,200 mile Le Mans Road Trip last year:

Reading posts elsewhere, I think he has actually found a suitable bra in the UK now.

Hey John, I never meant to imply that I thought Andy was doing a "bad" thing. Far as I'm concerned, legally avoiding giving any Government less is a good thing. Glad he's found a good used bra. Trust me on this one..if you're sad I'm giving up my car? You're probably sadder than I. There will be things I'll miss. But it's sort of like seeing a child leaving home. You'll miss the child, but you'll also enjoy an increased measure of freedom.

Sorry Paul, read you wrong there buddy.

I hear you about the upcoming changes, and more power to your elbow. I am saying goodbye to one of my cars in a couple of months and am already looking forward to giving more time to the new arrival, which is sort of the same liberation. Here's raising a small glass of the Irish in your direction, enjoy the new found freedom

I have one that came with my old Carrera. I will look at it when I get home and can take some pictures for you. I will never use it again so send me a pm. I reread your post, and am not sure if it is a Colgan or not, but I know it has a piece for the hood, and the bumper.

Andy, I have a rosewood 82 and just had to have the hood and front bumper repainted because the bra dulled the paint to a point that it was noticeable. I never left it on wet and only used it during drivers ed's and on the highway. It is a Colgan. I am getting ready to apply the 3m clear bra after the paint cures. I may still use the bra but will have the 3m protection underneath it so it doesnt mess the paint up again.

Greek55 did you see the post on here about the 3m spray on bra? If not you may want to run a search on it b/c it could be damaging.

The 3M bra Greek is refering to is not a spray on bra. The spray on bra you are refering to is a Griot Garage product.
