Stupid Newbie strut question :o
Hi.
I've purchased an entire 1980 911SC front suspension assembly for my 914 and am stuck - literally - at a pretty fundamental point. How does one remove the 'grease cap' in the centre of the hub? I thought of the fork from the meat carving set, but decided against it. Me cave man, me try taps with a mallet, blocks of wood, me no damage but me no move. Is this normally a job for Porsche tool no 12345769? I'm thinking of bending a u-bolt to conform to the radius in the groove, clamping it in, and using that to lever against. Am I missing something obvious? TIA. Dave |
